David Selby a.k.a. David Lynn Selby, an American film and stage actor, has worked in movies, soap operas and TV shows as well. David Selby took birth in West Virginia in the family of Sarah E. McIntyre Selby and Clyde Ira Selby. David joined West Virginia University and received his Bachelor of Science and Master’s degree in Theatre from the same. He then attended Southern Illinois University to do Ph. D.

David Selby appeared as the villainous Michael Tyronne on the final season of NBC primetime serial ‘Flamingo Road’. In 1982, David joined Falcon Crest and stayed on the show for all seasons. While appearing on ‘Flamingo Road’, he developed a strong relationship with Wyman, his co-star on series, whom he worked with for as long as eight seasons. In the short lived drama series ‘Tell Me You Love Me’, David Selby portrayed the character of Arthur Foster.

Among his movie credits are ‘Up the Sandbox’, ‘The Super Cops’, ‘White Squall’, ‘D3: The Mighty Ducks’, ‘Raise the Titanic’, and ‘Surviving Christmas’ etc. David also reprised the role of Quentin Collins for a new series of Dark Shadows. On the 200th Birthday Anniversary of Abraham Lincoln, David appeared on stage with the President Barack Obama and played Lincoln in a scene of ‘The Heavens are Hung in Black’.

David Selby has also tried his hand in writing and among his writing credits are ‘Lincoln and James’, ‘Final Assault’, ‘My Mother’s autumn’ and ‘Happenstance’. In an episode of ‘Touched by an Angel’, entitled ‘Beautiful Dreamer’, David Selby portrayed the character of Abraham Lincoln.

In 1998, West Virginia University awarded him its first Life Achievement Award from the College of Creative Arts. In 2004, he was awarded the honorary doctorate.

On ‘Tell Me You Love Me’, David Selby portrayed the character of Arthur Foster. He’s among the main character of series and his appearance received a positive response from viewers.
